What's a good Plasma TV brand and why do you recommend it?

First of all I would say it all depends on the price.

In the premium price range my personal favourite is Pioneer and their latest KURO Plasmas (Pioneer-PDP-428XD or Pioneer PDP508XD FreakScore 8,3

Stepping down at almost half the price Panasonic offers a extremly popular 42" plasma, Panasonic TH-42PX75U with a FreakScore of 8,6

Both are excellent choices in my opinion.

Panasonic TH series is what I would get.

Panasonic is a high volume seller so price is good and obviously it has to be hight quality.

The Samsung HP-T4264 would be my best bet! The colors and shadow details are superb and the price of the unit is noticeably lower than its rivals such as Panasonic and Pioneer. The price range is between $1,300 and $1,500.
