Default Sony VX2100 or Canon HX1A?

Sony VX2100 or Canon HX1A?

Who can help me with the following choice.
I want to buy a DV camera and i have 2 camera's on my mind. The Sony VX2100 and Canon HX1A.
It's hard to make up my mind about it and i hope some of you can help me out.

Lens quality, lux, chip & native widescreen
What i hear and read on the web is that Sony has better lenses and light performing results. Canon claims to have 0.4 lux; Sony 1 lux. Is it the lux or the lens?
The canon has more CCD-pixels, a slightly bigger chip and a native 16:9 widescreen, which is better for using to show on widescreen tv's and cinema.

Editing software & end result
I hear that a lot of footage of films with these prosumer camera's can be adjusted in software that turns the image in a high quality results like the cinema-look (35mm film effect). Does the camera make a difference here?

What i want
I'm interested in making short movies. And of course i also want the cinema 35mm filmlook.
Not necessarily to present on youtube. I rather use it for showreals, filmbeaming en slightly commercial use.

Feedback
Could anyone give feedback on the following topics?
- Lowlight performance (the difference between both camera's)
I'm wondering how is the result of the light comparing the Sony VX2100 to Canon HX1A? Is the Sony really better than the Canon or is the Canon adjustable in manual mode to give a similar (or better -because of 0.4 lux-) footage quality?
I saw multiple overexposed footage with the Canon. Is that shooting with the lousy autosettings the are talking about on the forums? Is the VX2100 better with that? Maybe not important because when you want to shoot projects, you go for manual settings of course, but can you also make quick (and not too dirty) footage wit the Canon?

- Noise in lowlight (which camera is the best for low noise and low lux? (VX2100=1lux; HX1A=0.4))
- Lens quality (which one is the best? Probably has to do with the noise and lowlight)
- 16:3 widesceen (native on the Canon and by using software on the sony. Does it really matter for the end result to have a native widescreen mode?)

Ok hope you can pick out somethings to respond to.
Thanks,

Jochum

--- Lux is a measure of light intensity. A camera lux rating refers to the minimum amount of light that will produce pictures. The lower the number the more sensitive the camera. So it depends on what you're going to use your camera for. If you want better lighting, then get one that has the lower lux.

Thanks,

Ik know this, but i heard even the 1 lux of the Sony-cam was better than the Canon 0.4 lux (strangely enough) because of the amount of noise the Canon produces.
I was hoping someone could confirm or deny this who has experienced both camera's. Are you familiar with one of the camera's?
