Hello. First post here.

Anyone else like some nightmares?

I have one of these camcorders, which has arrived in the UK, from the US where it is much cheaper. I am struggling to find sensible software for it.

The camera itself is very good, and the images are excellent, but the software that comes with it is a nightmare; Power Director and associated stuff. It is slow, heavy, and unnecessarily fiddly.

The downloaded and saved files on my machine are .TOD files. Nothing will read them, bar the bundled stuff. I need software that will read and convert the file to UK DVD standard (PAL) as opposed to the US NTSC. It also has to reduce the file size to a point where it is small enough to upload to YouTube; no more than 100mb for ten minutes.

I would love also to be able to convert the HD3 to recording and downloading in UK PAL format, rather than having to convert it when downloaded.

Love the camera, but the software is horrendous. Anyone got any ideas?

Justin
