Default How do camcorders work?

I never had a camcorder, neither try to use from someone else. I just want to know if it's complicated to use for beginners like me. Is it? or Is it not? And to what other device can you compare camcorders in terms of manipulating them.
Would it be same as using a digital camera?

For beginners, it's quite difficult to use camcorders. But if you can use a point-and-shoot camera, definitely you can use a camcorder. Try the basic functions first. Later, you will learn how to use other features of your camcorder. Practice makes perfect.

The differences between a camcorder and digicam are their features. Digicams are good for still captures. More on specific details like colors or texture. Not so much in extensive filming. Camcorders, on the other hand, are good for recording movements in good quality and not so much in capturing still pictures. Later, as you learn each other's features, you'll know what you want to use.
