Default how can i convert to .m2sts

Everyone wants to convert from .m2ts to something else. I want to take something else (DivX, AVI's) and convert them to .m2ts Does anyone know of a solution.

I just got a new Panasonic 850 series tv that can play AVCHD files from a camcorder through an SD card. Well i want convert my movie library on my computer to .m2ts so I can throw them on the SD card and play them on my TV in a nice format. One that is hopefully a lot smaller than mpeg-2. It doesn't seem like this is possible though. Why is that? By doing this I should be able to take Hi-Res movies with full 5.1 surround that would ussually take up several gigs of space and make it much smaller and easily playable on my tv.

It was my understanding the Panasonic TV's will play back certain MPEG-4 and H.264 formats.

Does your TV manual specify the format? M2TS is the container in which a video is transmitted between devices. A lot of different codecs can be used within M2TS.
