Default My Zune MP3 player runs really slow

Hi guys! I have a Zune 30GB player and for a while now it has been running really really slow, not to mention the sync which goes even slower. Is there a program that I should run to possibly defragment the disk drive of my player in order for this to run normally?

Hi Alchemist! I would suggest that you don't defragment your Zune because there's really no guarantee that it will function well afterwards. The read-write speed and the filesystem may end up being screwed up that you won't be able to use the player anymore. Therefore, it would be best not to attempt defragmenting it using any program.

You may want to just close down the Zune software and restart it because it could go back to its normal settings and sync.

If these suggestions don't work, you can always call the technical support team of Zune. They may be able to send you a recommended software to resolve your
problem.

Cheers!

^ I agree with Einstein. Defragmenting doesn't provide guaranteed results. Best to just restart it.

Besides, I rarely hear people defragmenting their disk drives under that type of circumstance.

I have a friend who told me that he lost a lot of free space after he defragged his Zune player. Instead of gaining a lot of space, he lost a lot instead and worse, it did not change the problem of slow-running player. This may be a rare occurrence, though so it's best to call the technical support of Zune before doing anything with your player.

It's best that you reset or restart your zune. Probably, your's busted. You might as well avail of the warranty rather than attempting to fix it.
