Eye-Fi, maker of camera accessories announces a key partnership and a new Smart Boost update. What's this Smart Boost update is? Well, it will let the Eye-Fi card intelligently determine the most efficient way to upload your photos to one of 20 supported photo sharing sites. This Smart Boost will enable Eye-Fi to determine if your computer is on, and if so, it will upload photos via Wi-Fi to your PC and let the Eye-Fi Manager software on your PC do the rest of work.
Unlike with no Smart Boost, the Eye-Fi transfers your images over your Wi-Fi network to the Web-based Eye-Fi service, which then forwards the images to your photo sharing service. The main benefit is to have a faster photo transfers off the card (not the ultimate arrival at your photo sharing site) reducing card activity and save battery life, which is no small benefit in and of itself. Uhmm, well, what if my network and net connections are slow? |

If your internet connections are slow, then I guess, this product is of no use to you unless you upgrade your internet connection speed.
The 2GB Eye-Fi Card looks like a standard SD memory card but features a wireless chip. IT transfers your photos wirelessly from your digital camera the moment they're taken, displaying them on a computer or uploading them to social networking sites like Facebook, Flickr and so on. The point in this matter is that there's no need for wires, memory card readers, USB leads, cradles or any other peripherals - the whole transfer process is done over the air. That would be kool right. What an ordinary consumer would thought is having the ease of transferring photos to their pc's. And yes, this thought would surely enticed anyone to have the card. Wireless photo transfer, who wouldn't want to take advantage of such technology? I guess all of us. |
