Default Titanium or plastic?

Just saw this review about the new Sony Cyber-shotŪ DSC-W300 digital camera. The camera's supposedly titanium clad.

Now my question is - what's the difference between a titanium clad camera from a plastic clad one?

Will there be a difference in the functionality of the camera?
