Pls suggest me whether it will be wisher decision to shift from EOS Rebel XTi to EOS Rebel XSi?
As I'm considering only Live View function added to EOS XSi.. for shifting to this camera only.. And I want to know will this Live view function work same as View Finder for moving objects ? |

Total noob here, but let me try and help.
If you are ONLY moving from the XTi to the XSi for the Live View, DON'T. The Live View mode only works with the manual settings on the camera, not the automatic/pre-set ones. The Live View mode on this model is geared more towards studio work or being hooked up to a computer. Could you use it like a point and shoot? Sure, but I am not sure why you would want to. There are plenty of nice point and shoot cameras out there, that are A LOT cheaper than the XSi. If Live View is that important to you, then buy a nice point and shoot. If not, keep the XTi. |

Are you sure about this? I thought the Live View function works in the auto settings. The focusing is the only thing that you should have to do manually with Live View. The exposure settings should all still work like normal I think. I will have to do a test when I get home.
I do agree with you that I don't think the Live View feature is a very good way to take most photos. Don't get me wrong, I use this feature a lot more than I thought I would, but not everyday shooting. I find it most useful in the studio when the camera is on a tripod, when shooting macros, or when I just can't seem to get the angle I want by holding the view finder up to my eye. If you want to use the LCD screen all the time, I like Pgh's suggestion of spending the money on a different type of camera instead of a DSLR. |

Just for your info - this just came out today - it's a firmware update for the XSi.
It includes an update/fix for the Live View.....I don't believe it has anything to do with your concern here, but the update is worth checking out if you own this camera. |
