Default Cheap memory cards

What's the big deal if the memory card is cheap or expensive? Whats the drawback if I am to buy a cheap one? Just wondering

Yo Emilio! Those expensive memory cards have higher speed ratings, speed in terms of how fast the images are written to your card making your digital camera becomes readily available for the next shot. Hmmm, like one of my friends digital cam, he had a cheap memory card, every time he takes a shot, he needs to wait for like 10 seconds before he can shot another one. That's the disadvantage of those cheap memory cards.

Ahhhh! So that's it! what comes in my mind is that the higher the price the more images it can store. Thanks Canor! I'll keep that in mind.

If you're the type of consumer who often downloads the photos or videos from that memory card to your desktop or laptop, let's say, then a generic memory card or a cheapo memory card will do. Truth of the matter is, you're only paying for the brand and advertising and everything else when it comes to expensive, branded memory cards.

Try SanDisk or Kingston. They sell inexpensive memory cards.

SD Cards have gone down in price over the years. You can get a 2GB card for less than $50.
