Can anyone suggest and perhaps discuss a little what DSLR is the best for taking action shots? Here are the features I would like to have in DSLR: High Megapixel, High Optical Zoom, Little To No Shutter Lag, Auto0Stabilization, Face Detection, HD Stills From Video, and Continuous Shooting Speed. I’m buying one soon. Any suggestions from you photography pros?

-High Megapixel: Most digital SLRs have good megapixels. It depends on how big do you want your pictures printed.
-High Optical Zoom: DSLR have good advantages on this because their lenses are interchangeable. I recommend Nikon or Cannon because they have good systems and a wide lens options. -Shutter Lag: I recommend Cannon 1 series or D3. There’s no problem with shutter lagging. -Auto Stabilization: Image stabilization depends on your lens and not with your camera. It is primarily used in taking static images or subjects. "Pan mode" IS can be used for getting shots of moving subjects. A good technique and tripod can help further more. -Face Detection: You might need an autofocus system. But in time, proper practice will develop your technique in taking shots. -Continuous shooting speed: D40 is capable of 6 frames per second. It’s my best choice. Evan Baines Photography |
