Question Remote Desktop Setup Problem?

Can somebody help me on this? I’m having problems with my remote desktop setup. I upgraded my router Linksys to dlink gaming router. I performed the necessary S.O.Ps (reformatting, scanning) because I had hardware upgrades. I have put the pc outside the router’s firewall. But, I got actively refused access. I have closed other programs and applications to avoid traffic or lagging. What do you think is the problem? Any help would be great. Thanks

Here are some of the important steps you can follow for your remote setup verification. Use ipconfig to get ip address for starters, then, the rest will follow as default. Bear in mind to secure the account you are remoting to.

Verify as the administrator.
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance.
Click System.
Click the Remote tab, select the Allow users to connect remotely to this computer check box, and then click OK.

Next, make sure you have Windows Firewall set up to allow exceptions.

In the Control Panel, click Security Center. Under Manage security settings for, click Windows Firewall. Make sure the Don't allow exceptions check box is not selected. Click the Exceptions tab, and verify that the Remote Desktop check box is selected. Click OK, and then close the Windows Security Center window. Your host computer is now set up to allow remote access. I added this links for further information.
