Question Lan setting with 2 OS problem?

Hi guys. I have 2 pcs at home. One’s running in XP while the other’s running with Vista. It seems I can’t get to share files or folders between the 2 pcs. How do I change the settings for a LAN? I have no problems with my internet connection.

I see. Try these following steps to help you with your LAN/sharing problem.
On your Vista, open the property sheet of the files or folders you want to share. Then, open the “sharing” tab by clicking on “share” under network file and folder sharing. Affix the name of the user account you want to share with and click add. Set the desired permission level for network sharing. I’m sure after you apply all the settings, your files and folders can now be share through network.

Another step you can try is by accessing your other pc directly by IP address. You can find the IP address of the host computer by opening a command prompt (Start | Run | cmd | Enter) and type "ipconfig /all" without the quotes. Under the name of your primary network adapter, you should find a field called "IP Address". Go to the client computer and type \\192.168.xxx.xxx (where that refers to your IP address). Sometimes, networking can be quite tricky but hopefully this will get it running properly.
