Hello there,
My friend was been given a 2nd hand PC and confused over some installed software. She has a program on the PC called "Dual-Core Optimizer" installed already in "Program Files/AMD/Dual-Core Optimizer/amd_dc_opt.exe". So she thought it must have a dual core CPU? Then she checked the hardware in device manager and under processors it just have 1 processor called "AMD Athlon (tm) 64 Processor 3800+". How can we check if the PC is dual core or not? Would this program be any use to a single core PC? We can not contact the previous owner to ask. Thanks for the help! |

If it were a dual core it would say AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+. Another easy way is to go to Start > run > taskmgr.exe. Go to performance, under CPU usage history you will either see one graph or two. If you see two then you know that it's a dual-core.
