Okay, plain and simple, if your unit gets wet, remove the battery and avoid powering it on, then look for a camcorder repair service online.

If your camcorder was submerged for any length of time, it's over, time to go shopping. Don't waste your time and money for repair! But if it was lightly splashed or sprinkled with water, then your unit has a chance to be repaired.
