You can! Though it rarely happens because of the fact that laptops are typically taken in different locations which means that they are not connected to a network. But, there are methods available for laptop backups based on two different users. Business users having network access through LAN and those which has no access to LAN (home users or student).

If you belong to business users, you can back up your laptop data by connecting your laptop to the LAN either directly or by docking it you can transfer the data you want to backup to the local server or back up the disk to a writeable CD-ROM or DVD player which is often installed on modern laptops.

Those users with no connection to LAN, back ups maybe through a remote storage facility using the Internet.
