Actually, CCD means Charge Coupled Device. Its a light sensor that sits behind the lens in digital cameras and it records the image when you take a photograph. It is made up of millions of tiny light sensors. Its capacity is measured in megapixels. So the higher the megapixel, the higher the resolution of the picture.
