One Star

  • Summary: Poor fit, consequently it doesn't really prevent spillovers.

It is also extremely flimsy and looks like it will break any second

  • Summary: This is almost zero protection against splashes. I churn cream in the KitchenAid to make butter and using the "splash guard" means I have there should be less splashing out of the bowl. I have to use towels to cover the bowl completely to prevent spills.

Gray junk coming out

Malena519, Meijer

  • Excerpt: I purchased this grinder and used it once to grind some pork. It works fine, however, every now and so often a chunk of gray stuff falls into the ground meat. I researched what the problem was, and apparently this model is known for the problem.
  • Pros: Easy to use
  • Cons: gray metal shavings falling into the meat

Absolutely awful. It may be ok for simple tasks and minimal amounts but...

  • Excerpt: I have been making sausage since i was a child and this was simply the wurst! Seriously, we tried to make 10 lbs of chicken/feta spiced sausage and it was barely useable. To be honest i will go out and buy a cast hand-crank grinder before i would use this again.
  • Cons: Almost useless, Inefficient, Poor Design

DOA

mathew f., Newegg
25 December 2012
  • Summary: I'll change this review if and when my return arrives. I know Kitchenaid from years of using their products that this doesn't happen very often.
  • Pros: Looks nice.
  • Cons: Made insane grinding noise and shot sparks out the side. Somehow it shorted out against the case and doesn't work at all. First DOA from Newegg and they want $50 to ship it back. Total disappointment, not from Kitchenaid, I can understand that defective parts happen, but from Newegg.

I feel cheated!

PinkPrincess, Amazon
17 October 2012
  • Summary: I was having a problem with this mixer shaking when I was making dough for my sticky buns, so I called customer service. They told me that this mixer can't hold more than 6 cups of ingredients if you are using a specialty flour, aka bread flour. Well this just sucks!

Very, very disappointing

Alice, Amazon
28 March 2011
  • Summary: I ordered a Kitchen Aid from this seller last week and realised just after placing my order that it would take a MINIMUM of 4 weeks to ship (why so long?) - by that time I will no longer be at this address.

Low quality

B. Kelly, Amazon
8 January 2011
  • Summary: As stated previously, does not lock onto the mixing bowl, but sits loose. There is space between the shield and the bowl, which allows liquids through, and the shield is so light and flimsy that any large items that hit it knock it off anyway. Absolutely NOT worth your money.
