Summary: Difficult to operate. Shaft keeps slipping. Need an engineering degree to operate the mechanism. Hard to clean up. Should have listened to the reviews before made the purchase. Would return it but after 5 or 6 uses the plastic shaft is cracked. That must be why they sell replacement blades and shaft.
STOPPED WORKING AFTER 2 MONTHS! SMUG CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Summary: I had a previous model that lasted for years and finally stopped working so I felt confident ordering another. The new model lasted only two months before just stopping working. It was under warranty but Cuisinart requires you to pay shipping both to and from and that costs more than what I paid for it. Cuisnart's customer service agents are very, very smug and condescending and acted like it should be nothing to just go out and buy a new one. No thank you, Cuisinart.
Summary: I bought this product to replace one that worked very well for many years but finally stopped working. After about 3 months of intermittent use my new replacement stopped working completely. I contacted Cuisinart via email to request a replacement since it supposedly has a two year limited warranty. Initially, they told me the serial number indicated that it is out of warranty.
Summary: I have had one of these for several years. It worked perfectly for chopping herbs and spices. It could take on a whole nutmeg and reduce it to a fine grind within a couple of seconds and leave very little waste behind. It finely chopped whole herbs like sage, basil, tarragon, and even thyme (making the leaves smaller), again in a few seconds.
I use this more than any other piece of equipment in my kitchen!

Summary: I just love this Cuisinart product. I have been using one for over ten years. I find that they are very stable and I only replace them after several years when the blade becomes dull. At $20 it is a great bargain as I use it almost every day. Grinding spices is a snap, ginger and garlic, too. I do not find cleaning it to be problematic, but maybe just because I am used to it. I've also given these to family members as gifts and they are sold on them, too.
