This is a very useful machine. Especially when you obtain the optional blades

Summary: This is a very useful machine. Especially when you obtain the optional blades. There isn't a whole lot this machine can't really do. I found the accessory blades on Craigslist for 20$. I can chop and slice just about anything. Very handy! Very fast!
Excerpt: We were very lucky and had the Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor donated to the local homeless shelter I volunteer at. It is a very powerful appliance that can make large batches of sauces, soups, salsa, chopped vegetables, shredded cheese, and it kneads dough for bread or pizza crusts. Because we are feeding so many people, we need something that can quickly process large amounts of food items.
Summary: Normally, Cuisinart is a very reliable brand. In this instance....it is the worst. At the beginning of the second use. the buttons on the base quit working. I had just opened the food processor, the first use was mixing some light biscuits....nothing at all for the processor. Next was the mix for shortcake.....the base would not shut off or change from " on". The store I purchased it from wanted NOTHING to do with this, so emailed Cuisinart.
Summary: Got as a gift for my wife after our other unit died. She uses it all the time, I think more than the old one. Runs well, quieter than the other (don't expect a silent food processor), and motor runs strong, even when kneading dough with the included hook. it reduces a pound of cheddar to a pile of perfectly shredded cheese in 3 seconds and a 2 foot pepperoni into a pile of thin slices in about 10. The dough mode is a good feature if you will be doing this.
Summary: The safety part makes this very impractical for prepping veggies. You cant slice or shred anything taller than 1 inch or the safety latch won't let you start the machine. I want to slice veggies that are full length! What a pain! I'ts ok for processing batters etc. Not worth the money, though, if that is all you can use it for.
Excerpt: This rocks for making dough. I'm a bread maker and find this machine really makes the job quick and easy. And when making pizza, I can whip out the dough, then quickly shred cheese and pepperoni for toppings.PowerPlenty of power for tough jobs.SafetyWill not run unless top is secure. Really safe.
Excerpt: I have had this small appliance in my kitchen for over 10 years. I absolutely love it. I have used this to chop all different types of vegetables. I have used it to puree vegetables for sauces and other items. I like that the lid has to be locked into place before you can actually use the chopping mechanism. There are only three pieces that need to be washed and it can easily be placed in the dishwasher to be cleaned for the next use.
Summary: This is my first food processor, I wanted the best and asked around and Cuisinart was always a recommendation. I couldn't be happier with it. I recommend watching the instruction video, as there is a bit of learning curve for newbies. The first time I tried to chop tomatoes I ended up with tomato puree instead! I use it all the time, and it has a special space on my counter.
Summary: I bought this product to help with cooking duties that are difficult due to recent hand surgery. Overall I am pleased with this product and its uses. I have chopped, grated, and made bread and cookies with the help of the machine. The product works as it is advertised. The only change I would have wished for would have been a slightly larger feed tube. Sometimes, I had to reduce the size of my cucumbers, potatoes, and onions to achieve fitting into the tube for feeding.
