Streamlight ProPolymer Luxeon 4AA

5 February 2013
  • Conclusion: For $32, the ProPolymer Luxeon is a great value in my opinion. I seriously doubt that anyone who feels this light would fulfill their requirements would be disappointed with it. Output is great, regulation keeps output essentially static for 3 1/2 hours, it provides backup light after regulation ends, and the LED/Polymer body make for a very durable combination. Streamlight appears to have put together a real winner.
  • Pros: Watertight, Tough/impact resistant, Regulated/good battery life, Bright, Easy battery change
  • Cons: Nothing

Streamlight ProPolymer 4AA

5 February 2013
  • Conclusion: A very reliable, simple, straightforward flashlight for hazardous locations, general, and outdoor use. Produces a tighter spot than other 4AA lights I've tested and the click switch makes one-handed operation very easy.
  • Pros: Waterproof, Tough/impact resistant, Long battery life, Bright, Easy battery change, Lightweight, Stands up, Hazardous location ratings, Protected switch, Vented. Produces a very nice tight spot.
  • Cons: The beam center was a tiny bit off in the module I received. This was easily fixed by applying slight pressure to the bulb in the reflector and moving is slightly to one side to tighten up the beam. If yours is slightly out of alignment, nudge the bulb until the filament is in the center (the glass bulb envelope my be slightly crooked, but the beam with be nice and sharp.)
