  • Summary: I do alot of photographing in darkness with nightshot but the IR light I had never was suficiant. The first time I used this light I was blown away, not only was it bright enough but it helped the pictures be less grainy. They were very clear.. Thank you so much. I will be ordering another for my other cameras soon.
  • Pros: Attach Securely, Even Light Source, Long Lasting, Powerful

Great range, horrible battery life

White Wolf Guardian, J&R
22 August 2010
  • Summary: I use the SIMA SL-20IR with my Sony Handycam HDR-XR200V but I found it rather disappointing for long term use. I'm conducting a paranormal investigation and the problem is it takes about 3 full hours to charge this device and all you get for that is at max 1 full hour of infrared lighting. The worst problem is that it doesn't even allow you to turn it on while it's charging, so keeping it plugged in while trying to use it is a no go.
  • Pros: Attach Securely, Even Light Source, Powerful

SIMA SL-20IR Infrared Night Vision LED L

Ghost Hunter, J&R
10 June 2010
  • Summary: The SIMA SL-20IR Infrared Night Vision LED Light for Camcorders does work for small filming projects. Unfortunately, if you charge it during the day and leave it sit in it's off position for five hours to be used that night, you have to recharge it again before using. It seams to drain if not being used. Other than that, its a good product for camcorders that do not have night vision already installed such as the Samsung Hi8 8mm camcorder.
  • Pros: Even Light Source

Great for Paranormal Investigations!

HonestGHOST, J&R
4 September 2009
  • Summary: These are a great upgrade from the standard Sony IRs that I used for paranormal investigations. They light up the whole room instead of just seeing a circle of light. My only complaint would be they take 3-4 hours to charge and only last just over an hour. However, with the ability to stack these lights together, you can have multiple lights on hand as back up. I have already bought my second set of two. Great price!
  • Pros: Attach Securely, Even Light Source, Powerful

awesome light!

Bonefinger, B&H Photo
13 January 2009
  • Summary: I have a fugi still camera that has been modified to see about 1100NM in the IR range. When i used the sima light with it the illumination in 0 lux is awesome! The light is more of a flood light unlike the sony IR light which is more of a spot light. The only thing that could be better is if it ran off of "AA" becouse the the charge only last an hour.
  • Pros: Attach Securely, Even Light Source, Powerful
  • Cons: Uses Power Quickly
