Excerpt: I bought this light to scan the back of my property. It easily lights the area 500 feet away. The light is compact and sits nicely on my window sill. I'm sure it will fill additional duty as a emergency light to take deer hunting.
Excerpt: I have become a huge NiteCore fan of recent, and purchased a few lights for specific needs. This light is a serious powerhouse, capable of illuminating an almost unbelievable area, with a large hot spot and plenty of spill. The light itself is very solid, and I like the fact that unlike a conventional single lens arrangement, the 4 lens set up means if you're out in the woods and drop it straight down on a rock, you will likely still have working lenses, maybe one or two...
Pros: Attaches Securely, Bright, Durable, Good Color Value, Powerful
Summary: Got this as a Christmas present for my husband who has a collection of flashlights and it was a huge success. He was so impressed and giddy with this gift, he showed it off to his coworkers who are all now jealous of this pocket spot-light. The medium setting (540 lumens) is impressive on its own, but hit the high (1,700 lumens) and you have a beacon for a search party. Go to turbo (3,500 lumens) and I'm sure a search party would have to be blind to not find you.
Summary: Feels really solid and has a satisfying heft to it. Extremely bright in turbo but has a very useful low mode of 3 lumens. I really like the user interface although it's not perfect (I prefer the ring of the SRT series) and the OLED screen is a great way to access operational info. I have a problem with CR123s though. I think they're too small for the battery compartment and they jiggle quite bit in there. They lose contact and break the circuit. No problems with 18650s.
