  • Conclusion: This is a good product and an excellent helper when you work with computers, cars or wherever you might find it dark and hard to work in. It is small so it fits anywhere and you can mount it anywhere with either the magnets or legs.

Joby Gorillatorch

17 December 2009
  • Summary: As I previously mentioned the Gorillatorch is quite small and the three "AA" batteries as stored behind the head of the unit.  Joby has offered great performance and battery life on this unit thanks it it's 1.5v operating voltage.  The three batteries merely provide greater milliamp capacity and longer run-time.  At full brightness, the Gorillatorch is rated at up to 20 Hours of usage and at the lowest power setting it can run up to 80 hours.

Joby GorillaTorch Review

The Gadgeteer
10 December 2009
  • Excerpt: The Joby Gorillatorch is a hands-free, ultra portable light that makes illuminating difficult spaces a breeze. With magnetic bottoms, a rubberized ring and foot grips, this compact cree LED light can illuminate just about any hard to reach angle. After using the Gorillatorch to adjust a few cables behind my television, I was surprised by how strong the magnets were.
  • Pros: Portable, Light-weight & ultra-durable
  • Cons: Batteries only last 20 hours on full brightness. Batteries can easily fall out if wrong dial is turned.

Joby Gorillatorch

6 October 2009
  • Summary: I like unusual gadgets, and while the Gorillatorch is designed for household applications it clearly has a place for us photographers. I have a similar torch for use on your head when fumbling around in awkward spots, but that's always slipping down or getting knocked off. For me this torch will be brilliant for delving into the back of the PC, fumbling in corners of the garage or shed, and certainly for some more creative photography.
  • Pros: Brilliant concept, Ideal for a wide range of applications, Good grip, Magnets are strong
  • Cons: Hot spot restrictive for photography illumination, Torch doesn't remove so tripod could be used
