  • Excerpt: A truly beautiful design. Has quickly become my 'go to' light for indoor illumination. Bright clean flood has no distracting hot spot and suppresses shadows wonderfully, unlike more intense torches. This is a shining example of 'less is more.

  • Excerpt: Simple and robust LED light that utilizes 2 CR123 Lithium batteries. Pros- Small diameter, machined aluminum body, and not super bright. Works great for animal tracking in the dark, as the weaker flood really highlights the tracks/sign. Can be used to read with as the "splashback" is minimal.

Good UV light for Field Work

klawinskip, opticsplanet.com
6 April 2010
  • Summary: I bought this LED UV FLashlight in order to search for scorpions as part of ecological research in Puerto Rico. The flashlight is small (I can fit two of them in the cell phone pock of my zip-off pants), has good battery life, and does a reasonably good job at illuminating the area.
  • Pros: Small, Powerfull, Good Battery Life
  • Cons: Too much visible light, can't use rechargeable batteries
