A good device for specific exercises for your fingers.

Summary: I'm a clarinet player and my teacher suggested that I'll use the Gripmaster to work on evening out and relaxing my fingers motion, as an exercise away from the instrument. For my needs this is an excellent device.
Summary: I figured since I do the hand grip thing that I could start with the Mediums, I was wrong. In fact, I went all the way down to XX-Light for my left hand's pinky and ring fingers. I used this for about a week before I was up to X-Light but I'm not gonna front, I needed a lot of reps on this baby before my left hand's pinky and ring fingers were ready for the X-Light and I've been on that one for about a month. My index and middle fingers I use Light now.
Summary: and even this one is kinda challenging but it is perhaps because of this very specific exercise that i try to do i really love the design of these, i have all from green to grey (x-heavy) Obviously I use different tensions for different exercises
Summary: I have used this gripmaster different resistence colors for years, and have found them very helpful for golf and overall fitness. I just purchcased this light resistence to rehab my left arm after a bike wreck broke my arm with ulnar nerve entrapment. It is a long slow road to recover from nerve injury and I may yet need surgery, but this is one of many tools helping my recovery. I am an active fit young 70 yr old man.
Summary: I purchased the xx-light based on a recommendation from my 9 year old's cello teacher. She was just starting cello and was having trouble holding down the strings. She had needed occupational therapy for a few years when she was younger, so i knew her fingers were weak in general. She used this just once in a while, while watching tv and it really seemed to help. she has no trouble with the cello string now.
Summary: The `Gripmaster Finger Exerciser' is an excellent piece of equipment that can help a wide range of problems, as well as helping with finger strength in general. This is ergonomically designed so it fits into your hand easily and I have found it doesn't slip or move around, like cheaper copies I have seen. This uses springs for tension and comes in a range of different strengths.
