Summary: I have just purchased my second one of these, after owning an identical model for the last six years. The old machine is still functioning, but is clearly getting ready to retire soon. I was delighted to see that this model is still being made by Brother, and did not hesitate to purchase another. The old machine has printed literally thousands upon thousands (very possibly hundreds of thousands) of great quality pages, being used everyday in a busy office environment.
Summary: The unit was ordered on Monday and my staff was using it by Wednesday. High volume fax machine w/ a reasonably priced toner cartrige.Hooked it up and let it send and recieve all day w/out worries !Highly recomended piece of office of equipiment.
Summary: I wanted a solid fax machine that did one thing only, and did it well: send and receive faxes. So, far, this machine has performed flawlessly. My only complaint with the machine is that there is no space (or very little space) above or below the one-touch numbers to wrote in the name of the person/company the one-touch button is dedicated to. There are 32 such buttons, so it could be tough to remember them all.
Summary: I had a previous Brother Fax that I had to purchase quickly (model 2820) when my previous machine quit. The 2820 was slow and would jam if we tried to send several pages of documents at one time. The 4100e has had no such problems, it is fast, user friendly, doesn't jam. Excellent print quality. My staff and I (medical office) are very happy with this machine. Definitely a 5 star machine.
Summary: We have had this fax machine for about two weeks now. It has not jammed once yet which makes me happy. Our old fax machine could not receive more than two pages without jamming. This one does not seem to do that (yet). It was easy to install and started working right away.
Summary: We get or send about 5 faxes a day. We had the last one (same model) about three years before it broke. Only 4 stars because the set up can be confusing. The basic stuff is simple but Brother uses some strange terms for some of the options. Works well as a basic fax.
Summary: We had an ancient fax machine so had nowhere to go but up. However, we are very happy with this machine. It is fast, fairly easy to understand. Haven't had it for very long so don't know how it will stand up. Should last a while since we get and send very few faxes.
