Summary: I bought this to replace a fax machine in our office when I opened it seemed very cheaply made never the less it has done exactly as advertised so I cant complain I will have to wait to see if it holds up over time. not to fond of the ribbon cartridges as they are a pain to change.
Summary: We developed a problem where some faxes were not received and not others. Replacing the machine with a new one (same model) solved the problem for a time. The problem must be with the machine and not the phone line since using a different fax machine solves the problem. Basically this machine seems to be reliable for about 1 1/2 - 2 years. If you don't mind replacing it every 1-2 years, other than that it is a good machine.
Pros: When it works, works well
Cons: Developed problem where only some faxes are received and not others.
Summary: This is my second Intellifax 1270e.An ink line appeared about 2" in from the right side. When I called the company they tried to be helpful but finally recommended a repair place.Since the repair would cost almost as much as a new one we opted to buy the same model. We wouldn't have gone that route if we didn't like it.
Pros: Easy to install.Easy to use.Great for home use.Makes clear copies.
Summary: I found this very easy to operate. I've had no problems sending or receiving faxes. I don't use the phone on the unit but the TAD works well with my independant phone/answering machine. It's perfect for low volume faxing.
Summary: If you are looking for a good, basic fax machine and copier, the BROTHER Intellifax 1270 is a good choice for a reasonably priced fax machine. Keep looking if you want all the bells and whistles of a multi-function high-tech machine.
Summary: 19 out of 30 - over half!- faxes are not received. Rings but doesn't connect. Phone support claims that this issue is the phone line of the sender and not the fax machine, however, we did not have this issue with our old fax machine. Faxes are cut off at top and bottom of the page.
