Summary: it's small which makes it perfect for travelling with a laptop or tablet. it literally fits in the palm of my hand. installation is easy. plug it into your usb port and wait for the auto-run to start. i didn't use the free back-up trial software that comes with it. it's unnecessary. it has about 465 gb out the box. i assume the missing storage is used for the drive software. the speeds vary but i have a slow internet connection.
Summary: I have an older 500 GB WD Elements external drive that I have been very pleased with, which is why I got this one. The only problem I have with it is that when I don't access it for a time it seems to go to sleep and may take a few minutes to wake back up. I am a 2d and 3d artist and this has caused my graphics software to crash mid project because the programs stall trying to load artwork off the drive after it's put itself to sleep.
