worked great. until it DIED

Pros: Bought this for my girlfriend to save her files when she started her ph.d program. It worked okay but transfer files were also slightly slow.
Cons: After a year and a half of minimal use, it died suddenly. There is no reason for it to die except for faulty parts inside the hard drive. The light blinks yet the drive is not recognized by the computer. Of course, now that the warranty is out there is no way to replace the drive or the very important files on the drive. Save yourself a headache and undue pain, get a more reliable drive.
Pros: This has been my daily companion, and thankfully is built tough. Don't let the picture fool you, it looks good but it will hold up too. Great transfer speed, never had to "scan drive for errors" or lose data. Would gladly buy another if this one ever dies.
Summary: 1. the disk is not read by computers 2. the LED blinks and goes on and computer freezes.. I have to reboot again and again... 3. I lost all my data.... 4. Most useless piece of storage that I have bought in last 20 years 5. I swear for every word above!!
Pros: I don't find any thing good with this unit
Cons: Any PC/ laptop would hand trying to read the drive. Total crap. I repent for buying this item
Summary: This is a fast HD and so lightweight, portable and holds more data than my previous 500gb. I like it that I don't have to plug a power cord for it to work. I store it in my black Amazon Basics Hard Carrying Case which fits perfect.
