Summary: No issues so far. Connects to tv with no issues. It is small enough for me to rest on the back of the tv on an angle and the wall stops it from falling. I put electrical tape over the blue light that flashes when in use. Otherwise you see a bright flashing light.
Summary: WD writes poor software and this reflects how stupid they are. Go to WD and try to install a firmware update. It will pretend the drive is a a my passport essentials. It is a my passport edge. Their smartware is not smart, but dumb. Lazy and irresponsible. The my passport edge is perhaps the best portable drive WD offers. They finally fixed their usb connector problem and the drive itself is stable. The software is flaky.
Summary: The Passport Edge: so small, it can fit in a pocket. No external power supply is necessary, it is powered through the USB port, so only one cable is needed. The cable supplied is very short but serves its purpose. SETUP After plugging the Edge in and installing the software located on the hard drive, I was up and running . . . until it fell asleep. It sleeps after 30 minutes, which seems to be the default mode.
Summary: Having experimented with both the version for Mac and this one for the PC, I can honestly report that these WD Edge products far surpass most all others in the portable hard-drive market. The WD Edge is smaller and sleeker than my other WD and Seagate hard drives. It easily fits in a jacket pocket and practically vanishes in a standard handbag. Very nice. Next, I copied one entire hard drive to this WD hard drive.
