Initial Reactions: GREAT!

Summary: This is based off my initial experiences with the drive and might be updated as time goes along. That being said, this is a great hard drive. I bought the 1 TB version to replace a 500 GB USB HDD by another brand that was starting to act shaky as the sea. Out of the box, this drive feels very solid. The metal enclosure feels nice in the hand and feels like it would offer some moderate protection should it encounter a rough ride in a car when kept in a laptop bag.
Summary: This is my fourth WD 1TB Passport (I now have one of every color). Although I do use a 500 GB one to back up my computers, I use these for storing movies, old radio shows and music, plus TV series and shows. Because of this I format the passport as soon as it arrives to get rid of the backup information. It also gives me more space to store stuff. WD has a very good product here.
Summary: I've tried everything, but can't get My Passport Slim to backup files from my Windows 8.1 "Program Files" folder. It backs up other folder but not system files. Thank God I got the Seagate Slim for redundancy because that external drive did not discriminate on type of folder. Other than that I don't like the user interface of the backup software - took awhile to figure out.
Works great. I have this attached to my MacBook Air.

Summary: I use this drive with my MacBook Air to expand it's limited SSD storage. I affixed the small drive to the laptop's cover (low, near the hinge) using super-sticky adhesive strips and then connected using a short USB cord. This set up allows me to move my laptop around without needing an extra hand to hold external HD, and it's always connected -- makes for a convenient setup. HD works great so highly recommended.
