Okay product, but does not backup 'system' files

Summary: I've tried everything, but can't get My Passport Slim to backup files from my Windows 8.1 "Program Files" folder. It backs up other folder but not system files. Thank God I got the Seagate Slim for redundancy because that external drive did not discriminate on type of folder. Other than that I don't like the user interface of the backup software - took awhile to figure out.
Works great. I have this attached to my MacBook Air.

Summary: I use this drive with my MacBook Air to expand it's limited SSD storage. I affixed the small drive to the laptop's cover (low, near the hinge) using super-sticky adhesive strips and then connected using a short USB cord. This set up allows me to move my laptop around without needing an extra hand to hold external HD, and it's always connected -- makes for a convenient setup. HD works great so highly recommended.
Summary: Nice and small. Elegant. Does what it's supposed to do. Glad I bought it. DO NOT LOSE YOUR PASSWORD or you will be stuck using it as a paperweight, but then the whole point is to keep your backed up data safe.

Summary: Easy to find space in my bag for this small wonder. It does its job quickly (USB 3.0!) and quietly. I've found WD to be a reliable manufacturer of long-lasting drives and I expect that this one will also fill that billing.
Summary: By far this is the best external hdd for the money. Why? Because its metal! This thing gets warm, all hdd's do as a matter of fact. and when it comes to cooling metal is the way to go. Other than that this is a pretty standard 1TB external hdd, it is USB 3.0 and has me very much impressed with read and write speeds. Overall a great way for me to store data.
