Outstanding!

Ronald J. Dougherty, Amazon
11 January 2015
  • Summary: Outstanding portable hard drive. I bought a Lacie 500 MB drive in 2009. It's fairly large, heavy, and not at all portable. Also couldn't secure the data. I was shocked out how small this WD drive is.

awesome basic necessasity at an awesome price

Nikhil Vongole, Amazon
29 December 2014
  • Summary: Very light and very handy. After a lil research, I found out this is the lightest in its domain and within my budget of $70. Have all my documents, movies, music and pictures in it. Got 1 TB since I kinda conserve on saving stuff.

Sleek and Sexy Hard Drive from WD

Nickcoy, Amazon
28 December 2014
  • Summary: Great hard drive. I very much recommend it if your looking for a sleek, compact, and durable hard drive. WD is a great brand in the business, but this drive still surprised me - go for the slim, you wont regret it.

An expensive mistake.

Syl, Amazon
21 December 2014
  • Summary: I tried to use this in my Windows 8 PC. The PC never found the drive. Yes, I tried every single piece of advice on this and other sites. (I'm a Microsoft Certified Professional, by the way. I tried even the most technical approaches.) Tried it on my Windows 8.1 PC. PC never found the drive.

Nice design, good price

Brett J. Mayer, Amazon

  • Summary: Nice design, good price. Works as described for Time Machine. I suggest you reformat it for Mac. I have had issues with other drives FAT formatted when using time machine.

Great little drive

Joshua K., Newegg
22 November 2014
  • Summary: It's a tiny box that can sit next to my desktop without bothering me, and it's easily portable.
  • Pros: This drive is very small and feels well-made. The material has a nice feel and look to it. Other than that, it seems to perform fine for my needs, but I didn't care to do any benchmarks on it.
  • Cons: I don't care for the little clicking noises these things make, but I can understand it. Besides, I'm very picky about those things, so me saying it makes little noises shouldn't mean much to you.

Works Great as a Hard Drive

Jesse W., Newegg
16 November 2014
  • Pros: Very Small Form Factor, fast enough for USB 3.0, self-powered.
  • Cons: Built in software is resource intensive due to poor programming; minor software incompatibilities seen with customers on a monthly basis

Works great

Christopher D., Newegg
16 November 2014
  • Pros: I purchased this for use with my Tablo over the air DVR for my cord cutting experiment. It has been perfect. I love that it is running off the USB connection for power rather than using an external power supply.
  • Cons: I have never used it as a back up drive, so I can't really comment on that aspect of it.

Love My New WD My Passport Slim

AndyTX, Amazon
6 November 2014
  • Summary: Have had it for just two weeks or so. Ordered it primarily for my Microsoft Surface Pro which has only 128 GB for storage. It was immediately recognized by the Surface and my Win 7 desktop as well after it was plugged in to the USB port. It IS compact and quiet and runs cool.
