Summary: I bought this unit to replace an 80GB one I outgrew in a rotating set of nightly backups with 3rd party software. I'm glad I read the reviews on various options - there's a new WD drive that uses a smaller mini cable that wouldn't be compatible with the cable I use for the other backup units.
Summary: Easy enough to use. My only problem, when I do anything with a file, I have problems ejecting this hard drive. It keeps saying file is open and will not let me safetly eject. Great for large storage, I need a higher capacity already (storing all my movies, music & photos).
Summary: I ordered this Hard Drive for my Father for Christmas. He had lost all his files and personal settings on his laptop a few times and thought that I could set up his computer to back all that up on the hard drive every time he plugs it in.
Careful about the "Frequently Bought Together" suggestion

Summary: I went on to the Case Logic site and noticed that the "Frequently Bought Together" Case Logic Compact Portable Hard Drive Case (Black), does not go with the "Western Digital WD Elements 320 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive WDBAAR3200ABK-NESN (Black)".
Summary: At the end of the day, what a portable hard drive is all about is the storage and back up of digital files. Nothing more. This drive represents great value for money and in my opinion, is a far better buy than the fancier, higher spec and more expensive Western Digital "My Passport" or "Elite"...
Summary: Purchasing the Western drive has so far cost 3 days of problems. Firstly, let's be clear, the storage capacity of this drive is NOT the claimed 320Gb but 298Gb. Maybe there are technical reasons for this, but the device is not being sold for use by technicians only.
Summary: This hardrive is my first, I decided to buy this after using so many USB sticks for photo storage. The hard drive is perfect size, not too big to store, and very easy to use. I would recommend buying this.
