Summary: As the wife has discovered her passion for digital photography, we found a need for portable storage that could act as a safe means to keep all her pics. This has worked wonderfully, and was recognized immediately by Windows.
Pros: Lightweight, good temperatures, USB 3.0 (WITH INCLUDED PCI-E card!) and lots of storage.
Summary: Comment to previous reviewer - I think you would be hard pressed to find any connector that is secured in any other way than being soldered to the board. Seems fine to me.
Pros: Installation was a breeze, drive is quick and does exactly as advertised. Finally WD realise the software they used to provide was awful. Now they just provide the driver on the disk for the USB3. Worked well with Windows 2008R2x64
Cons: None so far, everything you need is in the box.
Summary: This external drive is a great workhorse that allows me to back up everything and more. The USB 3 speed is very quick. Installing the USB 3 card was a breeze and the unit works flawlessly. I have recommended this unit to other people.
Summary: The drive and the PCI-Express Card required for USB 3.0 operation installed easily. I have only been using the drive for a month, so I do not have long term experience with it. However, everything has worked perfectly to date.
Summary: I've tried several eSata drives for the speed, and always found them buggy and prone to causing system instability. This USB 3.0 drive is priced right, very stable, and very fast. Highly recommended...especially since it includes a card for two USB 3.0 ports.
