Summary: Thought this was going to be an external hard drive only but once I plugged it in to my computer it to 2 days to use because it backed up my entire computer system. Every time I would move or remove a file it woudl copy the change which was annoying at first. I have eventually found out how to use as just an external drive.
Summary: This is my second external WD drive. First was a myBook, second was this passport. Both died shortly after warranty period ended. The drives were never dropped or moved much. No cheap recovery could be performed on either. WD used to be my goto company for HDs, not anymore.
Summary: We backed up our computer easily with this when we got it. It fell about one foot onto our carpet floor, and never worked again. We had to throw it out. It was not worth the money at all. We learn our lesson and went to the actual computer store and bought a quality one. Never again...
Summary: I purchased this as my first external hard drive. Since it was my first purchase, I bought the one that everyone else had, and it seemed that the My Passport drives were very popular. Plus, I trusted it since it was made by Western Digital. Well, let's just say I shouldn't have. The drive worked well the first 5 months, and I liked the security feature. However, after this time, I started to notice that the USB port was loose.
Summary: I have a mac, and I expected it to work right off the bat, but when I initially plugged it in it didn't work. It only took a little bit of Google-ing to figure it out. Now it works great! Thanks.
Summary: I love this hard drive. I am not a nerd geek or anything. I just needed to back up my files. So this small one was good enough for me. It is slightly bigger than a calculator. In my opinion very portable. So overall I am very happy.
