Summary: This product works fine, that's not the problem. I've been using this portable hard drive for over a year. During that time, I believed its outer shell was constructed out of titanium. Today, I find out that isn't the case. I always thought it seemed weaker than titanium because the shell would flex with a little pressure.
Summary: It was very easy to install all I had to do was plug it in and it worked! Even though it is refurbished it looks brand new and works just fine. It works great for backing up important files like music and photos and it also works well for when i have to take important presentations back and forth between school and home. I was very excited to finally find a great hard drive that didn't break the bank!
Summary: Initially took me a while to configure back up. It is a sleek drive and I find it very reliable. I have no issues backing up my Mac, but when it comes to Vista, the backup has hiccups. It doesn't start backup automatically, sometimes. I need to click on the folders to backup and then the back up kicks. And back up takes much longer in Vista!
Summary: A good, easily connected and transportable external hard drive. The synchronisation system/software is a bit clumsy, especially given the limited readily provided information on this. For example providing all the folders to be synchronised (which then links the sub-folders), however if new sub-folders are created these don't automatically get included. Very frustrating when you discover this after departing from your "base computer" with the drive.
Summary: This is a very good drive with excellent capacity, however the bundled software - i.e. WDSync is a little clunky. A bit slow with an awkward user interface. It would be nice if you could sync up data without having to encrypt it which: A) takes times to encrypt B) forces you to have to use WDSync to open/view the file.
Summary: This portable hard drive is great, its quiet, stays cool, runs completely off the UPS port on your computer for power, and is sleek and stylish looking. Its easily portable, can fit in your pocket and has plenty of space. Its not as fast as the larger 3.5 drives, but its plenty fast enough and works great.
Summary: for the price i think this is one of the better portable hard drives out there. read lots of reviews before i landed on this one and so far i like it. the only thing i don't like about it is the usb cable that it comes with, it is really short so you will need to have the hard drive close to the usb source
