Review: My Passport Edge hard drive complements Mac laptops

12 October 2012
  • Conclusion: The My Passport Edge for Mac is a great drive for easily storing your files for on-the-go use. It’s thin enough to stick in your pocket as you’re walking out the door to work, and its aluminum enclosure provides a durable exterior so you know your files are safe. It’s not the fastest drive on the market, but it’s fast enough for what its designed for. And since it’s formatted HFS+ and backwards compatible with USB 2.0, it will work right out of the box.
  • Pros: Pre-formatted for Mac and Time Machine compatible, Backwards compatible with USB 2.0
  • Cons: Single USB 3.0 interface only

WD My Passport Edge for Mac

16 November 2012
  • Conclusion: In a straight USB shootout the WD and Seagate are dead even, with the OWC in RAID1 only slightly faster. If you’re jumping between Macs and PCs you’ll appreciate the flexibility and performance of USB 3.0, but it’s hard to recommend a non-Thunderbolt drive to Mac users.

Review: WD My Passport Edge for Mac

3 December 2012
  • Cons: - Geen
