Summary: I added two more 3T drives. The LCD window on this is stupid and DOES NOT WORK OR DO ANYTHING OF VALUE. I wish my drive name appeared so that when lined up I know which drive has "what data". They knew it was dumb too - because the new versions (my 3T versions) have no LCD. All have performed well.
Summary: Have had this for a while now. It works well with Time machine. I have another partition on that to store my RAW photos, music etc. Haven't had a problem with it. The firewire 800 connection is great for quick transfers, although USB 3 is probably a better bet now.
Summary: This is a great external backup drive that automatically updates. Just leave it connected to your computer and your data is safely stored without you having to think about manually backing up. Extremely satisfied with this inexpensive purchase.
Summary: I don't know much about computers but a friend of mine does. He recommended this device as an external hard drive to back up my computer whenever I have problems and need to reboot without losing any files. It is just what the doctor ordered!
Summary: The best part about this disc drive is that it was so easy to install. It was literally plug and play. I'm using a Mac Pro and I didn't even need to launch Time Machine. As soon as I plugged it in, it set itself up!
Summary: After doing a lot of on-line research and reading review upon review, I decided I didn't need a portable backup hard drive, I didn't need it to match room decor, wasn't going to be impressed by its sleek styling, etc, etc-- I just wanted a backup hard drive that could back up my Macs. Period.
Summary: I am a new iMac user, having purchased and set up my first Mac just a few days ago. Consequently, the My Book LX (2TB) is the very first piece of hardware I have installed on the system, and I approached the experience with some concern that I would not have an easy time of it.
Summary: This item is labeled as MAC use but doesn't speak about PC at all - if you have a firewire card/connection on your x86, x64 machine then you can use this external drive. I purposely look for firewire devices as this has proven useful for streaming video/audio on my home network.
Summary: my western digital does its job its quick and easy just take it out the box and plug in the cables to your computer and your western digital and your good to go and who ever is shipping this item i think its beachbody cams but they are no joke i order my book during the day and i got it fast
