Summary: The Western Digital My Book Studio 320 GB USB 2.0/FireWire 400/800/eSATA Desktop External Hard Drive is excellent. It loaded up - activated - immediately upon connecting the USB wire and turning on the computer.
Summary: The hard drive arrived in great condition and in during estimated time frame I'm very satisfied with product worked as advertised exactly what i was looking for good job Western Digital will be doing business with your organization in the future
Summary: At first I was happy with the product since it worked as promissed but after a few months of use this is my Time Machine drive so it is plugged 24/7) i started getting some connection problems.
Summary: Purchased this drive new in January, only had a need to connect it via firewire & usb. Both work fine. Formatted this drive dual format (HFS+ and NTFS). This drive will not connect to any eSata port on any machine.
Summary: About a week after I bought this item, I needed to replace the hard drive in my laptop. Using the Western Digital My Book, I was able to transfer all my data flawlessly and easily. I think that's the test of whether or not it works.
It didn't last even near to the end of its warranty

Summary: I have three external hard drives: 2 WD My Book, and a Lacie portable. The Lacie portable had to be replaced after a year. The older MyBook, a USB-only 250 GB one, constantly gives me fits by spontaneously ejecting--and then ruining my iPhoto library.
Summary: Forget this drive with its eSATA connection. I haven't tried the other connections because I specifically purchased it for eSATA's speed, but as a SATA drive it fails completely. I've tried it with two separate controllers on two PCs running Vista and Windows 7. Same exact failure on both.
