Jun O., Newegg
6 September 2010
  • Summary: I bought this about 14 months ago, and its been working fine until today, when the enclosure just stopped working. Nothing was bumped, unplugged, no power surge etc. A quick browse of the internet showed that this is not necessarily uncommon.
  • Pros: Multiple connection options, especially FireWire 800
  • Cons: Enclosure died for no apparent reason

The WD Installation Chart had all the instructions I needed including a direct reference to the Western Digital website and Knowledge Base Article (#1550) t...
  • Cons: This is advertised as a USB 2.0 / IEEE 1394a / IEEE 1394b / eSATA External Hard Drive, but no eSATA cable is included although all the others are. I think NewEgg should have made it clear in the product description that it does not include an eSATA cable, furthermore, I think Western Digital shou...
