Summary: If one uses a NAS then this is moderately priced and durable. The associated software works easily. A word of caution is to be careful shutting one down without following their exact instructions.
Summary: This little box packs a punch. Inside there are 2 four TB drives that can be set up as Rad 0 or Raid 1 array. Inside there is a PPC 32 bit processor with a Debian 5 Linux distribution. It is fully Linux compatible, you can ssh to the box an administer it as any Linux server. You can use nfs to export shares to legacy systems and samba to share to your Winblows PCs or Macs. Highly recommend it!
Summary: Reading the revews here i got scared! But finally the price convinced me to give it a try! Guess what! It is a PERFECT NAS for the money that it costs! ! Maybe iam lucky BUT i did not Use any software to install it! ! I just pluged it in, hit the web admin page and all was easy as drinking a glass of water! ! ! Its PERFECT. Iam happy having it because it does exactly what it promises. And , NO ! Iam NOT working for W.D. ! ! ! !
Summary: Have only had this for about a week. So far, no problems. Was incredibly easy to set up. Transferred all my music, pics and documents easily. So quiet, If it wasn't for the little light on the front, I wouldn't know it was running.
Summary: The NAS drive works as advertised. I found the setup through the web browser easy to use. I setup the NAS so that one 4 TB drive was a mirror for the other 4 TB drive. I had no trouble backing up my MacBook using TimeMachine. iTunes on my computer had no trouble seeing the drive. It was strange that audio files in AIFF format (a format developed by Apple) could not be seen in iTunes, but they could be played in iTunes.
