Western Digital My Book Home Edition

maximum pc
16 November 2007
  • Excerpt: If we were dating the Western Digital My Book Home Edition, the sordid, brief affair would quickly end with one of those “it’s not you, it’s me” conversations. This 1TB enclosure is like the girl (or guy) who keeps calling and texting and e-mailing and IMing and calling and texting again—every time you connect the device to your PC, you get the same annoying application installation window over and over and over.
  • Pros: Quiet as a dead mouse, redesigned status indicator far more elegant than the previous big blue circle.
  • Cons: USB and FireWire speeds are quite slower than expected. Junky included software.

Western Digital My Book 750GB Home Edition

Hardware Zone
2 July 2008
  • Conclusion: Let's get down to where it counts most - performance. For the Western Digital My Book 750GB Home Edition external drive, its USB 2.0 performance was generally better than average and its FireWire performance was definitely up to expectations (and far better than the Maxtor as highlighted in the review). eSATA performance while not outstanding, it was decent, thus making the My Book Home Edition pretty much a hard hitter in terms of performance.

Western Digital My Book Home Edition 500GB External Hard Disk Drive

PhotoReview
1 May 2008
  • Summary: An elegant and versatile, high-capacity external hard disk drive with an affordable price tag.As indicated by its name, the casing of Western Digital's My Book series of external hard disk drives is shaped like a book, with cooling vent slots in the area that would contain the 'pages'. The covers have a smooth, matte finish that resists fingermarking and scratching. Along the 'spine' of the drive is an LED strip that lights up as data is transferred to the drive. . .

  • Conclusion: which you can find cheaper online. Using the standard USB cable we were able to get a 21.9 MB/s read speed, which is slower than the Premium's 28.4 MB/s. Using eSATA we were able to get a more respectable 48.6 MB/s speed, but this was still slower than the Premium's 66.4 MB/s score.
  • Pros: Lacking performance
  • Cons: Choice of interfaces, Quiet, Value for money

WD My Book Home Edition

pcworld.pl
21 December 2010
  • Conclusion: Jest nieduży (166x137x54 mm – wys./gł./szer.), a przy tym dobrze wyposażony bo oprócz interfejsu USB dysponuje również złączem FireWire 400 i eSATA.
  • Pros: Dodatkowe oprogramowanie, Szybki interfejs eSATA
  • Cons: Brak kabla eSATA, Możliwość pracy tylko w pionie

Western Digital My Book trio-test

Western Digital MyBook Home Edition 500 Go

lemondenumerique.com
26 April 2008
