Summary: No brainer here. This is my second one in the past five years. I still use the first and I wanted another for a different location. I would recommend this to anybody for backups and saves. Good one!

Failed slightly after 1 year -- no response from Verbatim for RMA

Summary: Device died after slightly longer than 1 year. Attempts to contact Verbatim for their 7 year warranty prove impossible -- they request you fill out an RMA to which no response is ever provided. Not worth the purchase as when it dies, it takes your data with it.
Summary: If you have an issue with it being partitioned (as I did), this can be solved easily. Verbatim in fact has a utility that is called "Verbatim Mode Change Tool". Just do a search and get this utility which will change the drive into any amount of partitions and/or file system you wish to change to.
Pros: Compact enough to be portable, has on/off switch which is a very nice feature that most do not have. Compatible with any OS.
Cons: It's not really 3TB, it's actually 2.72 TB total. Compatibility with any OS comes at an inconvenience for some. In order to make it compatible with older OSs that cannot handle more than 2TB, the drive is partitioned (it also uses a file system that all will recognize). One partition size is of 2...
Summary: Got this and within a short time needed to replace it. Replacement broke down and attempting to replace it was a pain and not successful. Got stuck with a piece of junk that not worth even as a paperweigh.
