Product came in a timely manner, and is functioning ...

timely, Amazon
2 August 2014
  • Summary: Product came in a timely manner, and is functioning well. Backup takes about 5 minutes, where the Seagate model we had for 2 years was taking about 20-30 minutes! Will probably have this one for a while with the 7-year warrantee.

Verbatim 1 TB Store 'n' Save USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive

Sally Freedman, Amazon
13 November 2013
  • Summary: I chose this rating because it was doing its job and I didn't have to do anything to it to back up. I could have given 5 stars to make it perfect but I never give anything the perfect rating.

Useless for backups, not heavy enough to serve as boat anchor

Peter Aleff "recoveredscience.com", Amazon
26 July 2013
  • Summary: The box of this Verbatim 1 TB Store 'n' Save USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive, Black (97579) looks nice but the Nero BackitUp&Burn software is useless and does not let me find out whether the drive works or does anything. Trying to install the Nero software from the Verbatim drive on my computer produces the message: "Error 26.204. An internal error occurred while checking the serial number! OK".

Review of models 97580 and 97581, Verbatim Store n Save USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive

Steve Jones / Las Vegas, Amazon
2 May 2013
  • Summary: Before we begin, check the review (re the 3 TB model) by CambyPCWizard right here at Amazon. I quote: "It only gives you 2tb of empty space. It has 2 partitions that you can not do anything with. Wait for the 4tb" Indeed, perhaps 80% of the hapless PC'ers who buy the 3 TB model (without reading my review) will believe the 3 TB model is screwed up. Too bad everyone at Verbatim is a Mensa and cannot bother to write a decent quick-start user manual.

Easy to recover partition

Regent Malepart, Amazon
2 May 2013
  • Summary: I've read comments regarding two partitions issue. I've perused myself for many hours to solve it until I stumbled into that software, already included on your HDD. That "Verbatim Mode Switch Tool" is a breeze to use. Open it, click "Start", use "Standard mode" but do not forget to CHECK "Switch mode". Of course, there's a disclaimer that you will loose all your data. Operation will take less than a minute.

FAT 32

Amazon Customer, Amazon
2 May 2013
  • Summary: I cant stress how hard it is to find a large hard drive that can be formatted to FAT32, almost any external that is over 500 gb's is formatted in NTFS and cannot be reformatted to FAT32 without special programs etc. most can be reformatted to exFAT but not FAT32. So for me, a 2tb drive that can hold all my movies and more importantly be read by Xbox's and PS3's allows me to easily turn my gaming console into an awesome movie player.
