Summary: Every drive I have owned has allowed you to "daisy chain" them together ... this does not. After buying three drives, I now find I cannot use them. Very disappointing, as this is not a difficult function. Information should specifically state that these cannot be chined together.

Summary: Product came in a timely manner, and is functioning well. Backup takes about 5 minutes, where the Seagate model we had for 2 years was taking about 20-30 minutes! Will probably have this one for a while with the 7-year warrantee.
Summary: If you have an issue with it being partitioned (as I did), this can be solved easily. Verbatim in fact has a utility that is called "Verbatim Mode Change Tool". Just do a search and get this utility which will change the drive into any amount of partitions and/or file system you wish to change to.
Pros: Compact enough to be portable, has on/off switch which is a very nice feature that most do not have. Compatible with any OS.
Cons: It's not really 3TB, it's actually 2.72 TB total. Compatibility with any OS comes at an inconvenience for some. In order to make it compatible with older OSs that cannot handle more than 2TB, the drive is partitioned (it also uses a file system that all will recognize). One partition size is of 2...
Summary: I've read comments regarding two partitions issue. I've perused myself for many hours to solve it until I stumbled into that software, already included on your HDD. That "Verbatim Mode Switch Tool" is a breeze to use.
Excerpt: Got this and within a short time needed to replace it. Replacement broke down and attempting to replace it was a pain and not successful. Got stuck with a piece of junk that not worth even as a paperweigh.

Summary: I chose this rating because it was doing its job and I didn't have to do anything to it to back up. I could have given 5 stars to make it perfect but I never give anything the perfect rating. There is usually some glitch but so far not in this one
Summary: The real test of a product comes when it fails! We had a problem with this drive after some months of use - it was no longer recognized by Windows 7 machines. We emailed support and they got back to us very promptly. When their solution didn't work, they quickly provided a replacement drive.
