Summary: I got this drive and plugged it in immediately upon receipt. Unfortunately, it would not come up in Windows, I had to first partition and format the drive. For my install in Windows 7: Right Clink "My Computer" Select "Manage" from context menu Select "Disk Management" in left pane of the window that opens. You'll see the disk in the list that populates! Format it appropriately for your system before you can use it!
Summary: I had to write a review about this. This is perhaps the best white HDD you can find. Regarding design, it matches perfectly any white computer. The picture appears to darken the edges a little bit, but thats just a lightning effect, the actual product is pure white in the edges also. What makes this wonderful hard drive is that it is COMPLETLY SILENT. You can start trasnfering a 2TB file to this hdd, and put it next to your ear and you will not hear a thing!
Summary: I have used this disk for over a year and a half. It worked well in the beginning, but then the micro USB port on the disk started to show signs of wear quite rapidly. At some point, it started to disconnect from the computer at the slightest movement, and I have trouble accessing it from my computer. If you want a somewhat durable external hard drive, don't buy this one!
Summary: This is the third Transcend External Hard drive I have ordered..This company produces good products.. I have different uses for each one..One I use for a total backup-One I carry with me and the other is used for an extra drive..I have never had a problem with this brand...
Summary: This was, by far, the single worst hard drive I've ever bought. It worked fairly well for the first 2 weeks, sometimes a sporadic error message would appear that the "device had been unplugged" while it was definitely still attached to the computer, the hard drive would vanish from my dock and I'd need to unplug-replug it in again to get it to show up; pretty annoying, but not the end of the world.
