Summary: I have 2 other externals by Transcend (all purchased on Amazon). I work in graphics & project folders can get deep. My 1st Transcend (orange) is my fav & still works flawlessly. I got the green 1 as a backup & it has a different plug to connect to the HD. This wasn't good bc I had to make sure I keep up with both cords in transport (as though I don't have enough stuff in my "designer's bag'). Anyway, this drive has the same connector as the green one.
Summary: I wanted a drive powered via the USB cable (like this one), without the bother of an additional power supply to carry around. (Oddly, the product descriptions often do not mention if a drive is powered externally or by the USB cable.) The USB cable does have two plugs on the computer end, but using just one plug works fine on all my computers. Evidently, the second plug may be needed on older computers with limited power supplied from any single USB port.
Summary: I use this mainly to hold TV Recordings, and a few documents so that I can replay them all on my laptop when out and about, or on holiday. It comes with a suite of software, all of which means nothing to me as all I need is the storage space. One terabyte of storage is an awful lot of data storage packet into such a small space.
