Summary: I have 2 other externals by Transcend (all purchased on Amazon). I work in graphics & project folders can get deep. My 1st Transcend (orange) is my fav & still works flawlessly. I got the green 1 as a backup & it has a different plug to connect to the HD. This wasn't good bc I had to make sure I keep up with both cords in transport (as though I don't have enough stuff in my "designer's bag'). Anyway, this drive has the same connector as the green one.
Summary: I wanted a drive powered via the USB cable (like this one), without the bother of an additional power supply to carry around. (Oddly, the product descriptions often do not mention if a drive is powered externally or by the USB cable.) The USB cable does have two plugs on the computer end, but using just one plug works fine on all my computers. Evidently, the second plug may be needed on older computers with limited power supplied from any single USB port.
Summary: I have had other branded hard drives and this is my best so far. It is recognized by windows 7 and Android immediately (compared to other hard drives I have purchased) and once safely removed, it can be re-installed at the touch of a button. The military grade cushioning is stylish and rugged. I would definitely recommend this product.
Summary: Very pleased with this purchase, the connecting lead is a secure fit and stays in place well, Nice high speed usb3 and very quiet in operation. Recommended purchase if you want a robust drive that will take some knocks.
Summary: I bought this for a friend who was spending time in hospital, he had no internet access but was taking a tablet and some books. I filled the hard drive with music, films, series and some books the only thing l added was a longer usb lead in case he didn't want it on the bed. It was used and enjoyed everyday for his stay 4-6 weeks and is still going strong, he will watch the rest through his tv when it is linked with a WD media player.
