Summary: I don't give 1 stars too often but this product has left me wanting to test its durability on a whole other level... mainly by stomping on it on the ground. When I got the drive I thought it was going to be perfect for what I needed (photo / video backup for a recent trip) - I quickly found out that...
Summary: This hard drive failed within a few months of having it. It wasn't dropped or used that much, the hardware inside the hard drive just failed. This seems to be a frequent problem with these drives after researching.
Summary: I love these drives. I've had lots of them in 256 MB, 512 MB, and 1 TB variations. One of them died a while back after years and years of use. This one, however, the 2 TB model, died on me after using for a bit more than one month.
unstable USB connection made it fail 3 months after use
8 November 2014
Summary: maybe it's supposed to handle drops, but the USB output is so unstable that it would disconnect pretty often from slightest motion. Sure enough, now it's not even recognized by my computer anymore.
Summary: I applied for a RMA soon after trying this drive because it would not connect to the USB 3.0 port of a Dell laptop (although it has always worked fine connected to USB 2.0). I decided to try it one last time, and it worked to create a backup, after which I put the drive away till a couple days ago.
Summary: These people want to do business the way THEY want to do it and they do NOT care about the customers needs -- they are the most un-business like, unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. DO NOT BUY TRANSCEND PERIOD!!
Pros: Light weight
Cons: a piece of junk broke in just 10 months. they shipped the return the way THEY wanted to had to be returned and reshipped \ cause a MONTH delay

Summary: Almost never recognized with Windows 7 64 bit on Dell Optiplex 980 and then only when the cable is disconnected and reconnected at the disk end. When recognized hangs computer with large (>200GB) filesystem copies requiring system reboot.
Summary: Buyer beware....what an absolute piece of junk! I tried this product after having several other drives fail. Given the environment where I use the drive, the possibility of dropping is a regular occurrence, so I was excited to find what I thought as a solution.
