Summary: Perhaps it's the luck of the draw, but I have been using my Firelite disk for 2 years now, without a hitch. I've used the entire capacity at times and the disk never fails to mount, it's fast, easy and it's been a lifesaver.
Summary: I have three of these and all are working well. They are very convenient as backup drives for Powerbooks because they are bus powered and they are capable of making bootable clones using Carbon Copy Cloner, not all drives are.
Summary: I carry this around with my Macbook and use it to store photos until I'm back home where I can load them into my larger disks. It's been to Europe and Africa and Antarctica without the slightest problem. Recommended.
Pros: Extremely portable; does not require external power source
Summary: if you are a MAC user, firewire is the best and most reliable connection over USB. this is a wonderful device to store and save all data. i use this as a back-up to all my school work and is a work-horse indeed. i can transfer data from my little 4 gig to this in just seconds.
Summary: I bought this External Drive for use with my PowerBook and have never looked back. I have had it for a year now and I use CCC to make a complete clone of my hard drive and it works flawlessly.

Summary: I own many of these and I recommend it to the many users I support. In a price/performance comparison, they are the best value around. For better performance you may want to build a SATA on firewire 800, but for the average user, a very good deal. Highly recommended.
