great hard drive
Summary: This hard drive is awesome, cheaper than most others, of course. It was shipped to me really fast. Very beautiful just like in the picture. Works great for all types of video format, including MKV. I have copied a MKV file which is 6.56gb and it was super fast. In fact, most of my video files are mkv and are all greater than 6gb. I have no problem with installing the drive to the computer. It automatically installed itself even faster than a regular thumb drive.
Summary: It turned into a fairly attractive brick. This drive looks better in the picture than in person - lightweight plastic, no feet, indicator light is on same side as the connection where it is hard to see. The top "checkerboard design" is actually annoying, but looked cool in the picture! Looks like it will scratch like crazy too. Cord would be a pain as there is no where to store it and you'll need it with you.
Summary: I bought this to occupy myself in Afganistan and it always had a problem losing the connection by the slightest movement. Well finally I realized the connector was lose, a friend popped open the case and the USB connector was falling off, it was also a Toshiba hard drive that had removed stickers all over it like it had been repaired so I don't even think it was new.
Summary: Just got this drive. Very sleek and portable. Drive has no noise and you cannot even feel that is running. Copy time is very fast (on USB 2.0). The actual hard drive inside this is "SAMSUNG Spinpoint M8 HN-M750MBB 750GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive". So, Silicon Power bought these drives in bulk and put in their case. [...] [...] I will update about durability etc later.
Summary: Don't waste your money. I had the drive for less than 6 weeks and the cable connection slot wobbled loose. I cannot get what I have stored on the drive as it is unreadable to any computer. As christened in another review here, I now have an expensive brick.
Summary: I bought this item primarily due to its price and that it can operate on windows 7. It seemed to work perfectly for avi, mp4, fvl files. But when I try to save mkv files that are 3gb or higher it won't save it. It will save the other files that are of equal or greater to the mkv. But for some reason it won't let me save the mkv files. If you need a nice portable external hard drive, then this will work unless your files are primarily mkv's.
