Silicon Power Armor A80 1TB external USB3 HDD Review
23 January 2013
Conclusion: Finishing this review I can clearly say that the Silicon Power Armor A80 is a stylish drive, with a lot of interesting features, such as water resistance, and shock proofing, you can drop it from 120 CM and the drive will continue working. Also the drive isn’t built with a cheap plastic chassis, but instead uses one made from metal, and you can probably guess what benefits you can get out from that.
Pros: Compatible with Windows/Linux and Mac OS, Stylish, Three year warranty, Solidly built
Cons: It is slightly bigger that the average 2.5” external drive.
Summary: The Silicon Power Armor A80 not only is well built but also gives a very good performance. The only other external driver under 750GB that was better than this was the Hitachi Mobile Touro Pro 500 GB drive. The cost per GB despite this being a rugged drive is Rs. 5.8 as compared to Rs. 9.4 offered by the Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro. From a price point, this drive makes great economical sense as the performance is good enough.
Excerpt: When it comes to building tough, nearly indestructible hardware, no one excels better than the United States military. These are the same people responsible for the development of the Hummer, Abrams Tank, AR15 and many other kick your butt up and down the globe projects that we don't even know about. Military specifications are the benchmark for all which many products are judged and many of those products fall short of military expectations.
Silicon-Power Armor A80: unità esterna di memorizzazione USB 3.0
5 July 2013
