Do not buy this Hard Drive

Summary: Don't waste your money on this Hard Drive.
Pros: Seagate will honor the warranty. I have used it twice to get this drive replaced. It did cost me $9.95 for postage so Seagate would send me a new drive.
Cons: Do not buy this product. My third drive has just crashed. The first two drives had the same problem. The extra usb power cable would no longer charge the battery. The only way to charge the battery was to plug the drive into a computer. The battery life when streaming a video was about 3 hours. I...
Summary: purchased in december, failed in march after being used perhaps 5 times as a backup drive. 3 other drives i have been in use for 1-2 years each. i bought this because of the wireless capability, but i'm going back to wired.
Summary: My son and I had both been looking for a product which would enable us to have all our photos, documents, music and videos all in one place, and NOT on “the cloud”. So the Seagate Wireless Plus, holding a nominal one terabyte of data seemed ideal.
Summary: I don't usually comment on products but thought that this ought to be made known. I bought three of these units during 2013 (that's right, THREE) and had high hopes that I could then make portable my backup copies of the many DVD's in my collection.
Summary: Just purchased this device and was specifically interested in being able to back up PCs, Macs, and iPads/iPhones all on one drive wirelessly. Unfortunately, this drive does nothing well that a half as cheap drive using a USB connection wouldn't do.
Summary: I feel like a fool in believing that Seagate wasn't like all the other companies that push products out the door before they're tested, and they're developed by engineers that just don't know what they're doing as they're being directed by management that will do anything to keep their jobs.
Cons: Too man limitations as listed by other reviewers. I'll focus on the problems. It appears as if Seagate's firmware development just doesn't know what they're doing. Hey, Seagate. (knock, knock, knock). Your current firmware development approach isn't working. It must be removed. This thing has mor...
Summary: I bought this to try to free up space on our phones. I was the only family member to get the hang of the app to move files on and off your phone, but i was not the one with 1000 selfies either. The wireless had to be reset frequently, and usually before you wanted to use it.
Summary: Why would you send me to a give a review of the item when you just cancelled my order? You may have stellar products but I'll never know because between canceling my order without explanation and asking me to review the item from the order you just cancelled, I'll never shop here again.
Cutting edge technology...but bugs need to be worked out

Summary: Pro's: Streaming is lightning fast, I can scroll through HD movies virtually instantaneously just like an internally connected hard drive. This device is a permanent solution to space constraints with my tablet. transfer rate was zippy, comparable to most usb 2.0 external drives.
Excerpt: Thought this drive sounded ideal - good memory plus wifi capability.
Foolishly assumed it would be plug & play out of the box.
Unfortunately set-up a nightmare if you want to use anything but their pre-installed software. I just wanted some external memory, not to learn a new interface.
