Summary: I was in two minds whether to buy a portable wifi hard drive, or a NAS unit. In the end, I went for this, eventually swayed by other reviews and the fact you could remotely-access the data stored on it. On the plus side, it quickly settled itself into my home wifi network with no fuss. I could access the drive from my ipad, laptop or mobile phone and transfer files back and forth. However, the negative aspects could not be ignored.
Summary: Things that dont work. 1. Cannot access private folder any more, after loading with 1GB of data. 2. Android app does not work, 3. Segate support wants you to ring America! 4. Dashboard failed to load. It is about to thrown away...
Summary: After using it for about a month, this seems a nice and simple network drive solution. It was nice and simple to set up and my parents are no longer worried by messages about failed backups, as their laptops now backup directly to this drive. I've also been able to build up a media collection that they can access on their tablets (when they remember how)!
Summary: Bought this as the predecessor external hard drive was running out of steam with all the usage and music I had on. Linked this up to the whole house so everyone can stream their own music (with their personal accounts) and view all the photo's with the shared folder. This is a top quality Wireless hard drive and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Overall, it does a job but you won't feel like you've hit the big time with this one.

Summary: Not as decent as I first thought. The drive is quite sluggish. Seems to have trouble streaming a small enough movie file (450MB, 1 hr duration). You basically need to copy things down first. The remote login works but the in-built player is a bit of a joke. Also, trying to partition it seems a bit of a challenge. Overall, it does a job but you won't feel like you've hit the big time with this one.
Summary: Less than 1 year and unit is dead, the unit has been on table with no vibration, and no movementl. 9 months after the unit stop working and when rebooted didn't came back. Light still blinkind and nothing happen.
Summary: To be honest, this is not a good product. I've had lots of problems right from the start. From first installation it set itself up as drive Z, which is already in use on my system, and it has proved impossible to get it to use a different drive letter. So I've had to reallocate letters to existing drives to accomodate this.
Summary: Having looked at other hard/Nas drives. Decided on this one. It synced with the computer easily, and also syced with our Panasonic tv. It does all we require easily. We both can see all our content on all devices, phones & tablets from anywhere anytime!!
Summary: Having several lap tops and a Samsung S5 plus iPad I needed to have a place to store other than a separate hard wired hard drive. I now have my seagate. Setting up if done correctly is fine but do remember passwords and site address for later. It accepts info sent wirelessly but big bundles makes it a bit slower so small chunks are better. But if your near your unit hard wire it Emory to transfer big files.
